Playstation 3 will have a simultaneous worldwide launch

New news from the Playstation Business Briefing confirms a November 2006 launch. However this won’t just be for Japan, Sony is going to prepare a worldwide launch for the Playstation 3! Also Sony plans for the PS3 to be 100% backwards compatible with both the PS1 and the PS2. Also the PS3 will need a hard drive to function. The hard drive is said to be used for gaming, but also for the storage of media files. Here’s some exciting news, the PS3 hard drive will support Linux! Sony also announced an online gaming service, which will debut the same time as the Playstation 3. The online service will support voice chat and matchmaking.
