Dell’s latest innovation is a mix between a portable desktop and a multimedia PC. The M2010 is a Windows based PC with an Intel Core Duo processor, a 256 ATI Mobility Radeon X1800 and 1GB of RAM. However, the M2010 is really built with multimedia in mind. It’s got a 20.1” screen, TV like remote control and a Bluetooth keyboard so you can lounge on your couch while watching episodes of Red vs Blue. The system easily folds up into a portable briefcase, a portable eighteen pound briefcase. Just snap the keyboard back on the charger and grab the M2010 by its handle to take it on the road. Dell announced this item yesterday at their press conference and the basic model is currently on sale for $3,500.

I was with you until I saw the “256 ATI Mobility Radeon X1800 “; I wonder if it is possible to replace that with a real video card?
The M2010 isn’t like other computers. It’s more like a consumer device since you can’t break open the case and start swapping parts out. So if you do buy it you’re going to be stuck with the ATI Mobility Radeon X1800.
That’s unfortunate. The idea is interesting, hopefully it sells well and they decide to provide a version with a better graphics card. Oblivion really made me feel the sting of owning a poor video card. At least the X1800 isn’t a horrible card even if it is the mobile version. It runs Oblivion moderately well and that’s about the most taxing thing on the market at the moment.
