For the month of June the DS sold nearly 600,000 units, thanks to the release of the DS Lite. To put the sale figures in perspective the amount of DSes sold were almost double for any other game device and were a third of the total video game system purchases last month. "Nintendo DS is the only game system available a year ago that showed growth over the same period, and it did so in overwhelming fashion, with a leap of 426 percent," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications.
No kidding, I bought a DS Lite at Wal-Mart and sold my old Electric Blue version on eBay for $100 CAD. So my DS Lite ended up costing me about $50 CAD.
People will go to great length to get a good bargain on a DS.
