Japan gets a PS2 price reduction

New models of the slim PS2 are shipping out in Japan on September 15^th along with a slight drop in price. Currently Amazon retails a slim PS2 (model SCPH-7500) for 17,850 yen ($154). The latest version of the slim PS2 (model SCPH- 7700) will retail at 16,000 yen ($138), which equates to a 10% price cut. Currently a slim PS2 retails for $129.99 in North America and Sony of America has not announced any plans to change the price yet.
