Region coding issues for Virtual Console games?

After seeing how you could switch regions with a PAL Wii to download different virtual console titles. I wonder how my US Wii would handle reading the Japanese Wii virtual console games. Notice on the Japanese Wii all of the game titles are in kana or kanji, but when I bring those games over on an SD Card to my US Wii the title for Super Mario Brothers changes from katakana to English. That was surprising, but the Street Fighter II title turns into “onetri1” and “onetri2”. Also interesting to note is that the USA Wii can read Japanese fine. I’ve sent messages to my US Wii to test it out and there were no problems.

The Japanese Wii also some issues reading the US games. When I looked at Bonk’s Adventure on the Japanese Wii no title shows up.

1 month and it hasn’t been cracked yet. Either hackers find this to hard or it’s the fact that you can just download emulators and ROM to play those on a PC (an office or living room) which might be repelling factor.

Yeah, the first console release always came with, somethimes, minor issues, but we don’t have to worry, they are reported and fixed on the next shipment.
