The final release candidate of Windows Vista (RC2) is having problems loading the PlayOnline viewer. The install menu doesn’t work and even if PlayOnline is on your system the application fails to launch. Since PlayOnline is the gateway for Final Fantasy XI and Front Mission Online gamers that migrate to Vista will not be able to play either of them until a patch is made. If you’re an avid Final Fantasy XI addict you might want to hold off upgrading until this problem is sorted out.
Considering how much power this OS requires and that you’ll need to relearn everything and retest everything, I would recommend everyone here to wait a few years to buy this unless it comes with a new computer.

It does work, you just need to know how to install it >:3
I went out and bought the new DVD Collection for FFXI. Put it in my DVD-ROM POL Setup wouldn’t start up. I had to Exploer the DVD and install each setup manually. Once I got that all done I set up POL.exe to run as Admin and run it as it’s on XP SP2.
The windower which some players use with FFXI (to window it~lol), also works. Again just need to XP SP2 the Launcher.exe and you’re set.
Moving FFxi from PC to PC without install:
