There's an awesome story behind the Megaman X games, at least there is up until the end of Megaman X4. Topics like worldwide warfare, whether or not peace can truly be gained from fighting a war, the distinction between good and evil - All of these are present in Megaman X and more - not to mention that we all would love nothing more than to see badass fight scene after badass fight scene, with Zero slashing Mechaniloids to ribbons, and X blasting the arms off of Mavericks, and the final battle with Sigma at the end. I agree, though, Megaman X would be horrible live-action. It would require a director to take the anime, or even Advent Children-esque CGI route to be good.
