A closer look at the Wii remote charging station

If you’ve been playing with your Wii you probably have had to switch batteries… at least once. The remote is great, but it eats batteries like they were free. Some savvy gamers probably picked up NiMH rechargeable batteries already, which are the only batteries the instruction manual says to use. Nyko has a more convenient solution, a charging station where you can put your remotes down and charge it after you’re done playing. The package comes with a docking station for two remotes and special NiMH battery packs that last up to 25 hours after each charge. If there is any accessory for the Wii that is essential, I’d have to say this is it.

I agree. I was actually surprised to find out that the Wii didn't come with a charger in this day and age.

Better batteries are actually Rechargeable Alkalines since they don't discharge by themselves without usage like NiMH. Also, am I the only one who sees a problem with Nyko's battery packs?

Sweaty Hand + Metal Connector in back of Remote = More Wii Injuries

Not from a 1.5 Volt shock, but the surprise of a small shock resulting in dropping or flying Remotes.

Does the Wii have to be left on all the time for the Remote to charge? Cuz mine turns off when I turn my Wii off, so how is it supposed to charge? Do I leave the Wii on forever and never turn it off for it to charge? In advance, wouldn't that burn out my system? Or is it only meant to charge WHILE u play Wii??? PLZ HELP!!
