Mario Party 8 screenshots!

I’ve personally never really gotten into the whole Mario Party "thing". But I gotta say, you add some Wii-motes to the mix and all kinds of hilarity will certainly ensue. Here’s a few screenshots from GoNintendo to get you excited for the upcoming March 5th release. Anyone else looking forward to this one? There’s a few more displayed after the break!

It’s a good thing Nintendo launched the Wii when they did, as the Mario Party sequels have been seriously lacking in original content with every single new release on the Gamecube. This is the first Mario Party game I’ve actually been interested in purchasing since the original on the N64, simply to see what Nintendo plans to do with the Wiimote. That in itself should inject some needed innovation in a series severely lacking any.

This is the type of game which will appeal to those who enjoyed Wii Sports, possibly even on a bigger scale thanks to the Mario brand name and depending on how well Nintendo makes use of the Wiimote.
