Wii Sports, the first million selling Wii game in Japan imagesWhile Wii Sports was bundled with every system in North America and Europe, it was sold separately in Japan. After ten weeks of being on store shelves Wii Sports reached the coveted million mark with 1,004,555 copies sold. It’s the number one selling Wii game, but Wii Play isn’t far behind with 879,432 copies sold. Things are different in North America where the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is the number one selling game, if you don’t count pack-ins. But what if Wii Sports was sold separately would it sell more copies than Zelda everywhere else in the world? And would Wii Play sell as many copies if it didn’t come with a remote?

  • I haven't gotten Wii Play yet but I'm judging by the hours I've logged on Wii Sports that I will enjoy it

It doesn't hurt that the whole package comes with a free Wii remote, which pretty much seals the deal for me. Honestly, that's the only reason I want Wii Play, although it should make for a fun multiplayer game in the same vein as Wii Sports.
