Quickspot is set to be the next "brain" type game released for the Nintendo DS. Not as hardcore as games like Brain Age or Big Brain Academy, but definitely somthing to get those neurons going. To put it simply, Quickspot is a compare and contrast game where you’re show 2 nearly identical pictures and much pick out the minor differences.
Think concentration style gameplay, something good for both parents and kid. It’s not heavily focused like other brain games, but it’s seems good for intuition & concentration.
There’s a few modes to get into here, but the most interesting are the multiplayer ones. 2 especially caught my eye, Time Bomb and Scramble. Time Bomb is similar to hot potato, where each person finds a difference in the picture and then passes it to the next person. In Scramble you can mess with your opponents screen, with effects like fog and turning the picture negative.
A host of past Namco games and characters will be making appearances, including Mr. Driller, Ridge Racer, Pac-Man, Taiko Drum Master, Prince of the Cosmos (Katamari) and more. All of the characters will be in their element for the games, so we can expect some cool retro situations to play. The game is a localized version of the Japanese game Machigai Museum, and there were some cultural changes that needed to be made in order to keep the E10+ rating the game has.
The game is set to release on March 13th for $19.99.
