Ubisoft likely to publish Senko no Ronde in North America

By Spencer . April 4, 2007 . 9:18am

There have been many signs pointing that Senko no Ronde Rev. X is coming to North America care of Ubisoft. Some of the clues floating around are an Amazon listing (thanks for the tip Bruce!) a Gamefly listing, an EB Games listing and most recently an ESRB rating under the name Battle Storm Senko no Ronde (retailers currently have it listed as War Tech: Senko no Rondo). There isn’t any official confirmation from Ubisoft, but with Senko no Ronde appearing everywhere it looks like the rumors could be true. Some retailers have Senko no Ronde scheduled to come out on May 22 so if Ubisoft plans to confirm anything it’s probably coming soon.

One thing that caught my attention the most was the $59.99 price point. If Ubisoft were to publish Senko no Rondo in the US I’ll gladly purchase it for that amount of money (I’ll be glad to see this long overdue title get confirmed in the first place). I can imagine other gamers overlooking this game at that price, especially if they never heard of the game or don’t fully understand the premise.

good, that means that my (pre-)order will be safe. although, on the flipside, it will set a bad precedent for other games considered for porting. not that it stops the likes of Atlus and NIS I suppose.

The game has been confirmed now, though judging by the horrible cover art and the Teen rating this might turn out being a botched localization. Anyway, there’s a reviewe of the Naomi original here:
