Later this month Final Fantasy: 20th Anniversary Edition comes out on the PSP and in just a few more months Square-Enix is releasing Final Fantasy II: 20th Anniversary Edition. The games are fairly more expensive than buying Final Fantasy I&II: Dawn of Souls for the Game Boy Advance, but the “deluxe” version of Final Fantasy II has the opening movie from Final Fantasy Origins and sharper looking graphics. See the picture above? The Game Boy Advance shot is on the left and the PSP version is on the right. The PSP version does look more vibrant with lighting effects and more colors, but I’m waiting to hear about the inevitable bonus dungeon before deciding if it’s worth buying… again.
I have a feeling square keep re-making these games but not actually getting the most out of it, just so they can re-make it even later & we can point out the mynute(sp?) differences over the years, why the hell are there no 3d or 2.5D versions yet?
if you’re going to remake these games so many times, you may aswel give us 60-80+ hours more gameplay involved.
