Resident Evil 4 Wii trailer is like a joke without a punchline…

By Dan Zuccarelli . April 16, 2007 . 12:31pm

How can a commercial be so bad that it makes you want a game less after watching it? Observe.

Let’s say you managed to get past the horrible IKEA-esque set design, the fake wig, the even more fake actors and the horrible CG elements. Why is it I still have to watch commercials where people act like the using the Wii-mote is amazing? Every move the guy makes is accompanied by a suprised look on both their faces.

Attention advertising agencies: We know the Wii uses motion controls, stop acting like you’re letting us in on some great secret. These PR firms are killing me, KILLING ME!

Well, at least from looking at the time of the film, it shouldn’t show on TV too much.

Lol, I find it pretty entertaining in a way, complete w/ Jpn subititles and all. It’s funny the guy kept showing off to his gf w/ this look that says “see, I got that zombie, baby”. But yes, Americans always have the funniest lines in Jpn commercials, either speaking simple English or accented Japanese.

    They’re just imitating the game’s acting ;-)

That’s exactly what I was thinking of when I saw this trailer for Resident Evil 4 Wii. Ah, it takes me back to the RE games of yore on the PSone, specifically the first installment, thanks in part to the cheesy live-action FMV opening. This very scene alone took away the serious notion that was assorted with Resident Evil for me before I actually sat down and properly played the game from beginning to end.

But that all changed once I witnessed those zombie dogs, otherwise known as MA-39 Cerberus, crashing through the windows. That’s one thing with the RE franchise, even if the voice acting completely throws you off, these “frightening” moments for their time will draw you back in.

    Looked alright to me…
