Sega revives Sound Novels

Before the survival horror genre blew up Chunsoft released a series or “sound novels”, horror stories with a few creepy sound effects for the Super Famicom. None of these ever got a North American release and the genre faded away. While visual novels are still popular (see xxxHolic) Sega is giving the sound novel genre a second chance with Imabikisou for the Playstation 3. Chunsoft is developing the title, which is about a twenty year old university student trying to prevent the death of his girlfriend. Imabikisou is going to be fully voiced and the visuals look pretty amazing. Since Japanese horror movies like the Ring and the Grudge have a fanbase, there is a small chance that Imabikisou could get a release.
