If you haven’t seen it stores SNK Playmore released Art of Fighting Anthology in stores last week. Yeah, I know there are rumors about a Wii version, but you can’t beat the price of the PS2 release at a cool $20. Art of Fighting Anthology is part of SNK’s NeoGeo Online Collection in Japan which has compilations of other SNK fighting games like King of Fighters NESTS and Garou Densetsu Battle Archive 1. We’re getting the latter under the name Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 1 and hopefully more SNK collections priced at $20 in the future.
It’s 20 bucks at EBs/Gamestop, but 15 at most other places
I’ll probably pick it up tomorrow, but I’m really hoping for a KoF XI release
What are you waiting for, SNKP?
Art of Fighting Anthology can only be the beginning of seeing SNK releasing more of their back catalog of Neo-Geo 2D fighters for a domestic audience on the PS2. With Sony lessening their restrictions on what they will allow being shipped on the hardware, this is SNK’s perfect opportunity to attend a little extra revenue, not to mention please their fans in the process.
The AOF series as a whole hasn’t aged as gracefully as other Neo-Geo fighters, but for the cheap price point of $20, it’s a steal almost too irresistible to pass up.

Pass. What SNK should be doing is putting together a state-side release of SAMSHOW 6 and a SAMSHOW collection, instead of sub-par fighting games like Art of Fighting.
