Semi-English version of Blue Dragon out in stores

By Spencer . May 22, 2007 . 11:30am

Most of the English speaking world is waiting for Microsoft to roll out Blue Dragon this August, but in Asia there is an English version of Blue Dragon on the market… sort of. Microsoft recently put the Asian version of Blue Dragon on store shelves in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Singapore. This release has Japanese and Korean (uncommon!) voice acting with English and Chinese subtitles. The Asian version also intelligently changes the menus to English or Chinese too, which makes Blue Dragon fully playable if you’ve been waiting to get your hands on it. However, you need to have a NTSC-J (read: Japanese / Asian) Xbox 360 to play it. Too bad huh?

I’ve heard/read (on message boards) rumors that a Blue Dragon demo (in english!) is being uploaded to Japan’s Xbox Live tomorrow that will contain the game in english. I can’t find a firm confirmation of this though.

Really, if so I would keep an eye on it. Now I just wish the US Blue Dragon game would be region-free.

Thanks for the tip Angelous. I checked with my JPN and Singapore accounts and there isn’t indication of a Blue Dragon demo yet… but I’ll be looking out for it now.
