Arcade Wii-make: Shin Chuka Taisen

By Spencer . May 30, 2007 . 1:56am

Insert credit has been following the development of a Chuka Taisen remake since 2006 and screenshots for a Wii remake just surfaced on Famitsu. I doubt many people have even heard of Chuka Taisen before, it is a shmup made by Taito that appeared in arcades in the late 80s. The Wii remake, Shin Chuka Taisen: Michael to Meimei no Bouken, sticks to the shmup roots, but since it’s a Wii game there has to be tilt control. Players can tilt the remote in Shin Chuka Taisen to tilt the world. The mechanic seems forced, but since this is Starfish’s (best known for the Black Bass fishing games) first Wii project I’m hoping for the best.

Cool! I used to play this game on my master system (it was called “Cloud Master” in Europe). The game wa so hard I never managed to finish it, the last boss was so unfair.
