Dressing up characters like Mario in Square-Enix’s Itadaki Street DS

Nintendo and Square-Enix teamed up to bring their mascot characters in Itadaki Street DS. If you’re not familiar with the Itadaki Street series, it is sort of like Enix’s take on Monopoly with more ways to invest your money. Itadaki Street DS features Mario and his friends from the Mushroom Kingdom plus select characters from the Dragon Quest series. While you can play as Yoshi or Yangus you can also make your own custom character and dress him/her up as seen in the Square-Enix Party trailer. Click on the blue TV screen in the bottom right to get the movie to play.

I’m not really sure if Itadaki Street DS is going to be interesting enough to write about since it’s on the dry side and it doesn’t appear to be import friendly at all. So I’m going to throw a question to you, the reader. Do you want to see additional Itadaki Street DS coverage later this month or should we skip it?

(Er, that is to say, yes, I would like to see more coverage, I like the idea of this game and wish they’d localize it.)

Moar. I LOVE THAT. I agree. This is a game I wish they would localize the game. I’am really tempted to import this game and learn some japanese. This game concept seems very interesting. NOW IMAGINE WI FI!!!!

    Keep up the coverage SILICONERA

This is even more attractive than the first Itadaki w/ FF. It seems like you can buy shares of stock and let the business grow and such, sounds fun.

Yes, yes, yes, more! I’m really interested in the gameplay in more detail, whenever you get to playtest it.
