And occassionally, some US covers actually outdo than the Jpn counterpart, such as "Lost in Blue" on the DS w/ the two anime-styled main characters , while in the Jpn version there's only an island in 3-D. I don't understand why you guys in the US don't as well- sure the boxarts had to be exciting ten-fifteen years or so ago, when Final Fantasy was relatively unknown in the West and had to catch the eye. But now as the biggest console RPG series across the world I think it looks nice to have them uniform boxes with the familiar white background and central logo.
