It seems strange, but Nintendo has gotten some big stars to hawk Ninty wares in Japan so maybe it's not so weird after all.

Either way, Nintendo Europe will be using the lovely Ms. Kidman to promote the Brain Training series. Apparently she'll be participating in a 60 day campaign to keep her brain in shape using More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain? which launches across Europe June 29th.

"I love the concept that Nintendo is reaching out to new audiences with their self improvement products like Brain Training. Most importantly, I’ve quickly found that training my brain is a great way to keep my mind feeling young."

Yep, I didn’t think she was gonna be doing it in America. Celebs are fraidy-cats when it comes to hocking goods in America. Since we’re the ones that give them their status and power they fear we’ll think of them as shills. Which they are. You’ll never see Keifer Sutherland doing a 24-themed CalorieMate commercial in America. Do they sell CalorieMate here? Eh, Just switch CalorieMate to Granola Bar.

We’ve seen enough Jpn stars being featured in DS CMs as of late, it’s cool to see American stars doing the same (at least Nicole kidman looks better than the couple on the Resident Evil Wii commercial, lol)

Anyone else is seeing the irony of using a movie star to promote a brain game?
