In August the Nintendo DS is going to get the first environmentally centric, real time strategy game, Ecolis. When the forest is threatened by mechanical monstrosities, Durian the fruit shaped hero comes out of hiding. Alone Durian is weak, but with the help of forest friends Durian can defend the woods against the Dalos. In the picture above the tree is the main base and you need to protect it by commanding the pink critters to attack the robot.
Besides a single player mode Ecolis includes a level creator. After you create a map you can use it in online games through Nintendo Wi-Fi. Ecolis looks interesting to me, but what about you? Should we cover it when it comes out in August and track down information about an international release?
hmm, definitely looks interesting. I was wondering when an original RTS would show up on the DS.
@ monkeypox
Lost Magic was the first to show up. ^_^
I’m interested in this game. I’m a nature freak and some of the animals look adorable!
This looks like it’s going to be bad. But I am slightly curious about it.
Sure, why not? I mean, the game has origniality written all over it, and isn’t that was Siliconera offers?
@thaKingRocka - It could be Ecoris too depending on how you pronounce it. You know the whole R and L sounding the same thing.
@Alexander - curious to why you think it’s going to be bad
@badfish - Siliconera is all about originality! I’m into it, but I always like to hear what the public thinks too :)
@Spencer
Well, the story sounds like it’s going to be really weird to me. But like I said, I am curious about it…specifically about the gameplay.
Maybe I’m being to pessimistic. You didn’t give alot of info after all.
@Alexander - there isn’t too much about Ecolis yet, but I’ll be sure to bring you more in the future!
well, judging from the abundance of squirrel-type creatures in the screens, i am gonna guess the title makes reference to some sort of ecological squirrels (risu). either way, the transliteration ecolis seems kind of funny to me considering the famed e. coli bacteria.
Yep, Lost Magic plays like an RTS with some of the typical RPGness of leveling when you beat the units.
Hope Ecolis has easy controls.
