Watch: Brave Story: New Traveler trailer

I mentioned it before, but in case you didn’t catch it Brave Story: New Traveler’s release date got bumped up to July 30. For a PSP role playing game Brave Story: New Traveler looks fantastic and the trailer gives you a sample of Brave Story’s visuals.

Did you catch the part where the boy was in a pen chasing colorful goalfinches? In the world of Vision people you can catch, raise and battle these in a Birdbrawling mini-game. It is unclear how fighting birds are going to help the hero bring his friend Miki out of her illness, but in a game where a catgirl and a lizardman are your allies it is probably best not to ask many questions. Seriously though, Brave Story looks like a treat for RPG fans who have been looking for something original, portable and on a UMD disc.

Currently playing Tales of the World and I'm not impressed by the massive fetch quest action. hopefully this does a lot better with me.

I was in Japan when the movie came out, so even though I don't own a PSP, I'm pretty excited for this. If the game succeeds, maybe they'll bring the whole franchise over.
