Simple games come to the Wii care of D3 Publisher

simplewii.jpgD3 Publisher has plans to continue their series of “Simple” games on the Nintendo Wii. The series has led to some strangely creative games where a humongous woman tramples a city and a game where you escape from Los Angeles. No titles have been announced, but I can already imagine Onechanbara on the Wii where the remote acts a sword. Will we see sequels to Earth Defense Force and dare I say Zombies versus Ambulance on the Wii? Maybe, but only after a generic light gun shooting game comes out first.

Okay, I gotta know more!

It looks like a GTA clone and I wrote about it a while ago:

the alternate title is Simple 2000 Series Vol. 110: The Escape from Los Angeles:

I know a few of the Simple games made it to Europe thanks to 500 …something.

Maybe releasing the games on the Wii will increase the chances of them making it to the States.(?)

If D3 Publisher had any plans to eventually start up a line of Simple 2000 games for a Western audience, now would be a good enough time if any to do so. Nintendo pretty much set up the stage for them with the Wii and it’s premise of pick up and play software that anyone can enjoy, a concept commonly found in many titles in the Simple series.

As long as D3 takes the time and effort to properly optimize a franchise like the Onechanbara series using the Wii remote (among others), the Simple titles could be a hit in America with the right advertising.
