I appreciate what Gamecock is trying to do, to give power back to the creators of the games as opposed to the huge companies. I hope they're successful in the long run and become a force to be reckoned with. The first title they seem to be throwing their weight behind the most is Hail to the Chimp from Wideload games.
There's only one problem with this, from the limited time I had with Hail to the Chimp I never had any fun.
Now I realize it's an early build and there's more than enough time to fix the issues I had, so I'm not in any way writing off the game completely. But I'm just being honest when I say the game needs work.
The main issue I had with the game was just that it was too slow. Characters seemed to be stuck in molasses which, when you're trying to play frantic Mario-Party style games, can be a real bummer. The games themselves were cool, albeit uninspired. There's nothing here we really haven't seen before. Which wouldn't be an issue at all if the game were more fun. But while I was playing it I just kept thinking about how slow all the characters seemed to move.

The storyline about the Lion losing his spot as the king of the jungle and the rest of the animals having an "election" of sorts is funny. Even the cutscenes that adopt a CNN-style newscast adding up the previous games "votes" was very well done. Of course that's if you're into political satire (though it's not to deep as not to be enjoyed by everyone).
With a few months to go before the games release, I'm really hoping to see my issues with the game addressed, as I really think they might have something solid here. But if the game comes out as is, I couldn't in good conscience recommend it.
