Second Metal Gear Solid graphic novel in developmentKonami announced they have a follow up to the Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel. The first one retold the story of Metal Gear Solid on the PSP with the gritty feel of a comic book. Metal Gear Solid: Bande Dessinee 2: Sons of Liberty* is going to do the same with Metal Gear Solid 2. No release date or US release has been announced yet. Since the Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel appeared in North America and the trailer is in English there is more than a fair chance you will get to relive Snake’s second Metal Gear Solid story in the future.

This will be fantastic as long as Ashley Wood is still slotted to do the design work.

MGS 2: Sons of Liberty had the most interesting, and twisted, storyline in a Metal Gear game yet, and I loved every minute of it (although I’m hoping MGS 4 tops it in that category). It goes without saying that having the game retold in comic book form through the illustrations of Ashley Wood is the perfect precursor to Guns of the Patriots, since SOL happens to predate Metal Gear Solid 4.

Have yet to get first first PSP graphic novel, the new PSP would come in handy w/ the new video out to display the comics if one wants to read it on a big screen.

I hope the US version would feature the Jpn voice over as well, since it’s the first time I get to hear the org. Jpn VAs (Oozuka Akio as Snake, Tanaka Hideyuki as Otacon, both veterans) reenacting Sons of Liberty. Otherwise it would be great if they get rid of the region-lock for the UMDs, but it’s Sony we’re talking about.
