As you may already know Persona 3 was delayed because of a manufacturing issue with the bundled art book. Atlus just sent over an e-mail with the new ship date for Persona 3, August 14. Sure you have to wait a few extra weeks to jump into Tarartus, but you’re getting a full out limited edition package with a sound track and a better bound art book.
Read what Atlus has to say about the delay past the break.
The new scheduled ship date for Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 is August 14th, 2007.
This is the very soonest that manufacturing of the Persona 3 art book can be completed, and also takes into account the time required for assembly of the final package.
The manufacturing issue with the art book was brought to our attention mere days prior to the initial ship date, and was a scenario both unforeseen and beyond our control. Our disappointment and frustration is tempered by the knowledge that the final product will live up to our standard of quality and also the expectations of our fans.
While many are willing to sacrifice the art book in favor of the game alone, the package we have spent the last few months designing, one intended to honor the series and reward fans for an eight year wait, would be irreparably compromised if we were to revise or abandon the deluxe package. Without the art book, the outer box would lack the structural integrity to endure shipping; all extras would need to be discarded. Again, this deluxe set was created for the fans of Shin Megami Tensei and Persona, and we are determined to see the special release through to the end.
I’m glad that they aren’t compromising the quality. I’d be glad to wait a couple weeks for this game as long as it is a quality product.
How about tossing in the FES disk while they’re at it to make up for the delay? *imagines Atlus representatives pointing their middle finger at USA gamers*
Hey, just a random thought.
I agree, they should seriously fix the artbox.. it is horrible… really horrible..

This is the actual game artbox and its looking pretty hot unless if the artbox you mean the outside one holding the game,cd, and artbook together then yeah don’t if it is silhouette one but yeah they should change it would look cooler if they used JPN game cover because that would look pretty nice. Oh well the delay doesn’t seem too bad for me, I still have a backlog of games + packing up things to move to a new house
I would really like to know why Atlus US is so hesitant about FES? It seems like they don’t want anything to do with it. They could always do a limited 1 pressing run on it the way they are doing with Growlanser.
So wait K’ you confused me? Is that awesome art you linked to the box art? As in the art on the case that holds the game? or something else? I hope it’s not something else cause the one you linked to is pretty sexy.
@rootbeerking - yeah the “box” you see holds the game, the art book and CD. Inside the package is the PS2 game with its own set of box art that K* pointed out.
I don’t mind the wait either since I’m in the middle of couple of games (you won’t believe I left Mother 3 in the desk’s drawer and am now playing on the bus now, great game, definitely should be localized).
Thanks for the link, now this cover is more like it, since the silhouette one really pales in comparison to the 3 Jpn covers (org, FES, and FES Appendix).
Ah Alright, well then that’s good^_^ thanks for clearing that up Spencer!
I started playing it for a few minutes and was giddy with joy. The intro was so mysterious! Can’t wait to go home and play some more.

They should fix the boxart while they are at it…
