Wham-O toys are responsible for tons upon tons of toys, from Frisbees to the Hula Hoop. Even the backyard ruining (and water-bill killer) the Slip'N'Slide. And while they have a huge cache of toy properties at their disposal, I'm not sure how those toys could transfer to the video game world.
But it would appear that the Wham-O company disagrees with me, and is setting the stage to have all manner of Wham-O products in games. Ed Dille, the CEO of FOG studios (working with Wham-O to make the games) put it this way…
"With accelerometer-type controllers like the one used on the Nintendo Wii and soon on all systems, even PCs, users can make the same throwing motion they would with a Frisbee in real life and see an appropriate reaction of the toy onscreen. Concurrently, Dance Pads can be used to recreate unique foot toss games like Hacky Sack, and Nintendo even recently used a Hula Hoop application to demonstrate one of their upcoming Balance Board peripherals."
So there ya go, another use for that Wii balance board besides WiiFit! If nothing else it'll at least be interesting, I'm just hoping it's not just another collection of mini-games.
