Online petition may light the way for Resident Evil PSP

Slacktivism working? It might happen if this Resident Evil for PSP petition nets 10,000 signatures. Capcom acknowledged the creator of the petition with a note saying, “As we plan for future games the team will definitely consider the fans and specifically your petition. It does have impact. Keep me updated on the number of signatures. If you get over 10,000 that will draw significant attention.“ The news spread on PSP Fanboy and the number of signatures mushroomed to 3,500+. The work is still significantly less than half done, but I really want to see this petition fly. Partially because I want to play a new Resident Evil game on my PSP and so this goes down in history as one of the few (only?) times an online petition actually achieved anything.
