Online petition may light the way for Resident Evil PSP

Online petition may light the way for Resident Evil PSPSlacktivism working? It might happen if this Resident Evil for PSP petition nets 10,000 signatures. Capcom acknowledged the creator of the petition with a note saying, “As we plan for future games the team will definitely consider the fans and specifically your petition. It does have impact. Keep me updated on the number of signatures. If you get over 10,000 that will draw significant attention.“ The news spread on PSP Fanboy and the number of signatures mushroomed to 3,500+. The work is still significantly less than half done, but I really want to see this petition fly. Partially because I want to play a new Resident Evil game on my PSP and so this goes down in history as one of the few (only?) times an online petition actually achieved anything.

More likely, they already have a RE for PSP in the works (since Monster Hunter was such a big hit, why not try some of their other big franchises?) and this is an early bit of viral marketing…(which they tried with Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins, to little effect, but it did set a precedent)

BUT…theyre only signing that because they love the PSP and want another game on it. Not even 40% of those who sign will actually purchase such a title. just want bragging rights for the SonyWarMachine

seems made up, why would capcom reply in english to a petition? their teams and core decisions are taken in Japan and they even have a “no-respond” policy for english e-mails.

the guy just wants to bring the spotlight into his pettition.
