Dragon Quest IX delayed until 2008

dqix.jpgFor the past few months sporadic batches of screenshots were the only Dragon Quest IX news, which isn’t much considering how big the Dragon Quest series is. The lack of attention made the release date look shaky and now Square-Enix officially announced Dragon Quest IX will be postponed until 2008 to give Level 5 more time.

Between their new Professor Layton installment, White Knight Story, mystery DS project and Dragon Quest IX Level 5 has their hands full. More time usually means a more polished game so I have no problem waiting a little while longer for Dragon Quest IX. To pass the time between numeric Dragon Quest games fans in Japan can look forward to the Dragon Quest IV DS remake from ArtePiazza and North America will to get to play Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker this winter.
