The curiously effective video game carrying case

When I carry around my PSP or my DS I like to lug around a few extra games too. However, it's easy to drop and lose a DS cart and UMD discs can get scratched. My soultion? Altoids tin cases. The circular mint case perfectly holds three UMDs and the tiny gum case can hold up to eight DS games. Sure, the solution isn't as effective as a carry all case. But when I'm roaming around the city the altoids case and a single console fit snugly in my pocket.

Anyone else have creative ideas on how they hold their PSP/DS games?

Nice tip on the round Altoids case Spencer. I’ll have to buy myself some Altoids

What if someone reaches for an actual Altoid? ;)

You know those orange disc protectors? I use the case for my disc games when traveling light.
Also, I use a DS case to store a few, maybe about 6, games. I probably should do that, but I do it ” just in case”.

Those old Gameboy cases can store a few DS games, too.

How many umds can you carry in a Altoids case? 2, maybe 3?

Spencer Says:

@Alexander - ine round tin holds three UMDs

@matty - good call on the old gameboy cases. They’re clear too so you can see what you’re carrying.

Heh, I’ve been doing this for years. I keep my GBA (and now DS) games in a square tin when I’m traveling. I can fit about 7 GBA games or 6 GBA and 6 DS games in this tin. It’s really handy.

that’s tight.

cheap UMD case with free mints.
