Japanese gamers interest in the FPS genre is supposed to be on the up, and Halo 3 is meant to a major player in helping that. Can't help thinking there are going to be lots of branded consoles left in Japan after they run out of stock in the the US and Europe though.

I thought Halo 3 was up there on Japanese gamers' most anticipated list, more so than some of the more popular franchises, wonder if that's really the case.

If Microsoft's lucky, and their advertising campaign actually works out fairly well in Japan, I can imagine Halo 3 selling about as well as Gears of War did over there. Although naturally, the sales won't even begin to match how well Halo 3 sells in its natural continent, America, especially when you consider the 360 is much more popular here than overseas in Japan, where it has basically flopped.
