Quick Hands on Arkanoid DS

ads.jpgI’m not really sure what to say about Arkanoid DS. Simply stated it’s Arkanoid with a quest mode. When you step into the single player mode you’re given challenges like amassing a certain score or clearing all of the bricks with a limited number of paddle bounces. The thing that I wasn’t too crazy about was how Arkanoid was placed on the dual screens. Yes, it looks better than being letter boxed, but there is a noticeable delay when you switch screens. It’s as if the developers programmed hinge space into the game.

The plug in controller was the highlight of the experience. If you’re planning to buy this make sure to get the bundle package with the paddle. It’s a sturdy piece of equipment with a metal dial and it does a great job replicating the classic feel of Arkanoid.

What’re the chances of this getting a North American release? Looks like the perfect alternative to paying for an NES cart and the Vaus controller on ebay.
