Even though our phones are not as advanced as the Jpn counterparts, I really don't miss them at all, why would I want to play games on a tiny vertical screen if I can play either the DS or PSP (Castlevania Order of Shadows, yuck).. Do they make a lot of money but putting out cellphone games in Jpn, like Before Crisis? That's probably the only thing I'm interested in.

It's a shame that, like Parasite Eve before it, the Tobal series big revival to the gaming industry had to be on a cell phone. And judging from Spencer's above impressions as well, Tobal M leaves much to be desired, despite excelling in the graphics department for a mobile game. Honestly, I don't know what Square-Enix was thinking here, pulling off a 3D fighter on such a tiny screen seems needlessly difficult, especially having to deal with the pressure of properly dealing out combos using such tiny buttons found on a typical mobile phone.

I don't know if Square would be willing to release Tobal 2 separately in the US at this point in time, meaning unfortunately the only way to play the game may only remain as importing for now. Although I would certainly love to see a compilation of the Tobal series on PS2 for $19.99 in North America which naturally would include Tobal 2 being on the roster.
