R.I.P. Gunpei Yokoi 1997-2007

It's sad that more people don't know the name Gunpei Yokoi. Of course most readers of this site I'm certain are well aware of the genius of the man, but you're an informed bunch. But just in case you don't know he invented or created a leigon of great gadgets in his time, most notably the Game & Watch and the Game Boy (He also created the Virtual Boy but no one bats a thousand).

On October 4th, 1997 he was sadly killed in a car accident.

Yokoi posthumously received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Game Developers Choice Awards ceremony on March 6, 2003. It's been 10 years, and I personally still wonder what he might have come up with if he were still with us.

Gunpei Yokoi September 10th 1941 - October 4th, 1997, You are missed.
