I liked Final Fantasy: Anniversary Edition, but it was hard to shell out $30 when you can get two games on the GBA for less than that. For $20 the prettier, PSP remake is slightly more reasonable. The only catch is you’re importing it from Play-Asia and you miss out on the neon box art. On the plus side Square-Enix has a language option in the Japanese/Asian version so you can switch over to English without any problems.
How is this version different from the US one (aside from being in Japanese)?
I am so glad I live in Australia where we get the plain white covers with the nice Final Fantasy logos in the centre, just like Japan and in the mother country, England.
If you look at Final Fantasy VII through to XII, you will see that people in American get given hideous covers plastered with tacky pictures and covered in colour in order to attract the American customer, who they figure, must buy things that are packaged like crappy American action films. The simple, minimalistic covers are far more aesthetically pleasing, and when you have more than one Final Fantasy game in your entertainment unit, they look they all belong together.
One happy family of FF games. YAY ^_^

Be ashamed for helping Square release yet even more remakes, ports, and spin-offs of 10+ year old games. ;p
