Houkago Shonen: Konami’s after school adventure

houkago.jpgI like how the DS has an influx of adventure games and surprisingly not all of them are cliché. Case and point Houkago Shonen, which almost fell underneath my radar. There isn’t any time bending, dragon slaying or house of zombies in Houkago Shonen. The story is about a boy who is about to move away from home and he wants to make his last days with his elementary school friends memorable. It almost reminds me of the after school portion of Persona 3… only with less dating and more mini-games.

It doesn’t hurt that Houkago Shonen looks pretty too. But the concept seems almost too uplifting for a North American release. I hope I’m wrong about this though. Konami prove me wrong by picking this project up!

You’re right when saying that the chances of a NA release is very slim.. I would say that as well.. but from the screenshots of the game.. it really does seem to be a very interesting game to play on the DS. I really really hope Konami picks this up as well..
