Don’t worry NIS America fans, the company that brought Atelier Iris and Disgaea Portable isn’t about to abandon their core audience. On March 18, 2008 they are releasing Mana Khemia ~ Alchemists of Al-Revis ~ on the Playstation 2. Gust originally developed the game, which means you can expect 2D visuals and plenty of crafting. However, Mana Khemia deviates from the Atelier series because it’s set in a school. The protagonist, Vayne Aurelius, is a student at Al Revis and he gets quests directly from the professor. Fail a mission and you might be spending time after school. Also the story changes depending on who is in your party, which makes Mana Khemia sound similar to Persona 3 if it had a bubbly plot.
bit late, but effing awesome nonetheless. PS2 still kicking.
Shit. Excuse my language. I really expected them to announce Ar Tonelico 2 before they’d announce this. I suppose the Mana series has more presence in the US, but… damn. I’d really prefer AT2.
Hah, I’m glad they’re still pumpin’ out those PS2 games. Makes it so I *don’t* have to get a PS3 in order to play them. So all I really need is my 360 and my PS2 =P
