Konami hasn’t announced anything official about a PlayStation 2 port of Silent Hill Origins, but an image of semi-official looking box art is matriculating through the internet. Gamefly and Amazon posted it up with a floating March release window. Crisp box art doesn’t mean it’s definitely coming out, but don’t be surprised if it does! The decision to port Silent Hill Origins is a pragmatic choice for Konami to boost sales of the title, which I imagine was quite expensive to produce due to a developer change midway through the project.
At GameStop there is an “upcoming titles” binder that gets updated with every marketing kit and in the most recent one that got set up this sunday there is a page for the PS2 version. There is still no date in the system yet, but it should show up soon if they put out that page.
AWESOME news… no PSP = me not being able to play this one… until now(well, maybe March at least).
Not surprising. It seems likely to be that the game tanked, based on how little traffic there was on the Gamefaqs message board for it. And figure 70% at least of the people there are pirates.
Yeah! not surprising, a port to old PS2 console. Dam it
Come on Konami, Silent Hill Origins and Silent Hill V for Wii!!
That’s everyone wants!!
There is a huge group of people that i know, they gonna buy without a doubt the silent hill origin ps2 version of the game if came out, is really a good idea.
silent hill 5 on wii?? hauhauhauhauahuahuauha!! impossible! wii cant handle that, just play all yours marios games ;)
^that last comment wasn’t very fair to Wii owners.
If this trend of PSP - PS2 ports continue then it is likely to push the lastability of the PS2 considerably.
is not fair the word, wii can´t handle with next-gen graphics, is reality
