Reader Response: Dungeon Explorer PSP & DS

derr.jpgI’m preparing an interview with Hudson about the pair of Dungeon Explorer: Warrior of the Ancient Arts titles at the end of this week. While they share the same name the PSP and Nintendo DS versions are quite different! I personally find that strange and that’s going to be one of my questions. More importantly, what are your questions? If you have anything you’ve been burning to ask Hudson about the upcoming Dungeon Explorer revival or the series in general post your questions in the comments. I’ll do my best to squeeze as many of them in for you guys and gals.

Are they coming out at the same time? I dug around the gamestop website and the game for the ds is listed as coming out on feb. 12, but the psp game is not there at all.

Lord Gek Says:

Randomized Dungeons? I want to get my Rogue Fix on!

Matt Says:

How long does the game lasts for?

thebagofsand Says:

Does the game require Friend Codes to play online?
Is there anything different between the US and JP versions of each game?

JeremyR Says:

I’m curious as to why Hudson decided to step back into the PSP RPG market after cancelling the US release of the FAR East of Eden PSP. Is DE cheaper to localize, because it’s an action RPG?

Funktion Says:

Not really Dungeon Explorer related, but if you have the chance ask them about a possible resurrection of other TG16 franchises.
A brand new 2D Bonk for the DS (or a compilation of the old games) would be pretty much my current dream-release for the DS…

Anyway, the new Dungeon Explorer for the DS looks great, I’m really looking forward to it (already pre-ordered it), it’s too bad Hudson barely released any media from the English version. We need new screenshots and videos to keep us busy until the release date… :)

how customizable are the characters…like how are the skill sets step up

and does equipment change the way the avatars look?

Jimmy McKee (Cyber Fox) Says:

It’s not really Dragon Explorer related but, What conivnced you to return to publishing games in the US on your own?

jeffx Says:

I really want a return to form for Hudson. I miss the good old TG16 days. Do they plan on revisiting more franchises in the future? Who owns the Neutopia license, if anyone?

JeremyR Says:

Hmmm, that is weird, Gamestop doesn’t list the PSP version anymore, but most other places do. I wonder if Gamestop is cutting back on carrying PSP releases? (They also don’t have some other ones that just came out, like Warriors of the Lost Empire
