Evolve Nintendo hardware from the Game & Watch to the Wii in Populous DS

The Bitplane is absolutely amusing addition in Populous DS for any Nintendo fan. You start out with the most basic electronic Nintendo device, the Game & Watch, which evolves to the Famicom and so forth. Eventually, you get a conglomerate of Nintendo consoles wrapped together to make a single land unit and at the end of the evolutionary chain is the Wii with four remotes!

There is little doubt in my mind Electronic Arts will localize Populous DS for North America, but I wonder how they will adjust the BitPlane to reflect Nintendo of America’s history. The third evolutionary step is the Famicom Disc System, which was never introduced outside of Japan. What console could fill the void? Notice how the Virtual Boy was left out? Electronic Arts could modify the evolutionary chain to add it in, but it’s more likely a lone Super Nintendo will replace the FDS.

Yes. Import golf.

The NES is probably going to replace the FDS.
