Sony is continuing their budget friendly PlayStation “the Best” series on the PlayStation 3. The first five entries are:
Folklore
Resistance: Fall of Man
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Mobile Suit Gundam: Target in Sight
Ridge Racer 7
Each of these titles will be rebranded with smaller box art, a yellow label and drop down to 3,800 yen ($35) on March 19 in Japan. If SCEJ’s pricing strategy is any indicator, I wouldn’t expect PlayStation 3 Greatest Hits games to sell for the usual $19.99 price point. Sony Computer Entertainment Japan bumped the price for a Best re-release up from the usual 2,800 yen ($26) price tag for a PlayStation 2 game to 3,800 yen. However, SCEJ doesn’t price all Best releases the same. Occasionally, a PlayStation 2 game like Momotarou Dentetsu 15 slips out with a 3,800 yen price tag too.
Sony Computer Entertainment America and Europe have yet to announce their lineup of Greatest Hits or Platinum Hits, but we will probably see them later this year.
they really don’t have to be such big sellers to be put in the lineup. i’m looking forward to a price reduction of ninja gaiden here in the states. once it hits 20 or so, i’m in. i’ve already bought both the original and the black versions, so i can’t justify the hefty price tag for hd. incidentally, played on BC, ninja gaiden looks absolutely incredible. it looks better than some 360 and ps3 games actually.
Well, they are just following Microsoft’s lead - their Platinum line for 360 games sell for $30 (instead of $20 like for the Xbox 1)
@JeremyR - Very true. The price for budget games has been raised to $30 since Microsoft set that as the standard with the Xbox 360.

The other titles I can see, but didn’t know Folksoul/Folklore sold that well, I guess it did considering the extra contents put out on the PSN store. Thought I was one of the few who bought a copy.
