Watch – Mana Khemia 2 artistic teaser

By Spencer . February 18, 2008 . 2:41pm

NIS America is bringing Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis to North America next month. Meanwhile Gust is already busy developing the sequel Mana Khemia 2: Ochita Gakuen to Renkinjutsushitachi (loosely Alchemists and the Fallen Academy). The trailer doesn’t reveal much in terms of gameplay, but you can get a first look at the two lead characters.

Instead of switching consoles Gust is sticking with the PlayStation 2 for Mana Khemia 2. Providing Mana Khemia does well in North America, NIS America is likely to localize the tenth installment in the Atelier series sometime in the future. However, I wonder how the announcement of a Mana Khemia sequel will affect people's attitudes towards Gust's first alchemist academy game.

  • I just can’t believe this means, potentially, the US will still see PS2 RPG’s into 2009, based on NIS’s going rate of localization. Phew.

Hah!Yeah I love the Atelier series of games and the art but don’t think the use the same artist for them all do they?Just making sure cause I love the art.:D

Well the PS2 still has a huge install base and development costs are probably much lower than for the PS3, so why not?

I’m a little disappointed when I hear of a Mana Khemia sequel because Ar tonelico has a sequel which we never saw. I’m not too disappointed. It’s just that I hope they bring the MK sequel here as well. And AT, too lol. Mana Khemia is a very cool looking game with a lovely and very informative website for it. I cannot wait to return to another alchemist rpg of such greatness as this. I think me playing this game will shut me up, though.
