Square Enix is attempting to cater more to Western fans these days. One of the finer examples of this tactic is The Last Remnant, the so-called "RPG for the world" which will mark Square Enix's first simultaneous worldwide game release.
Related to this strategy, the president of SE, Yoichi Wada aims to steer the company's game releases towards worldwide distribution, or at least tighten the gap between Western and Eastern release dates. If this holds true, we can expect many more titles from SE to follow the footsteps of The Last Remnant, and many Final Fantasy fans can hope the suite of Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII games are part of this trend.
