Hudson brings Tetris to WiiWare

You knew someone was going to port Tetris to the Wii and surprisingly Nintendo isn’t handling the task despite their ties to the geometric puzzle game. Hudson is taking the task and they have Tetris Online scheduled for Japan this summer. The “online” component allows up to six players to compete over Nintendo Wi-Fi with their Miis as an avatar. Similar to the Tetris DS, Tetris Online will include items too, but Hudson has not disclosed what items will be in the game.

In addition to competitive modes for Tetris champs, a local co-op mode will be part of Tetris Online. Two player co-op appears to have a wider board and the team shares a common score. This could be interesting if Hudson makes Tetris Online resonable. Somewhere between 500-800 Wii Points is a fair price for me.
