If you are thinking, “Contra III never came out for the NES!” you’re technically correct. Konami had no hand in the pirate ROM. However, the work put into the downscaled Super Nintendo classic is pretty impressive. Not graphically, but content wise. The first level of Contra III replicated fairly well as seen in a series of videos found by Select Button.
This is a video from the NES Contra III copy…

love these articles, keep pumping them out.
That said, contra IV was one of my favorite games of 2007. I know it came out recently in Japan, is there any way you could investigate into how well it fared over there? Considering this is a classic Japanese series remade by (capable) American hands, I’d like to know what real hardcore Contra players thought of it. Similarly, I wonder how Silent Hill Origins was received.
Well, I know that Famitsu gave Contra 4 a 28/40 (7, 7, 7, 7,). Beyond that, I’m wondering myself what they thought about it specifically.
Oww, my poor innocent ears!
Other than the “music,” that actually looks fairly well made. It would actually be kind of neat to have a job making unlicensed games for obsolete hardware.
