Cruise Japan with the PSP Camera and Nippon no Asoko de

psppic.jpgFew PSP titles support the camera. My Stylist does and it uses the accessory to catalog a wardrobe. The upcoming portable map cross alien tourist game, Nippon no Asoko de, uses it for a similar purpose, cataloging the world. With the PSP camera you can snap pictures and create an original map of Japan. A neat idea, but this sounds like way too much work for me. Apprentice cartographers may feel otherwise.

psppetamap.jpgAlso why bother when you can just use Petamap? Sony is adding an interface to their online mapping software in Nippon no Asoko de. As long as you can connect to a Wi-Fi spot you can access Petamap and search for the nearest curry shops.

With these features Nippon no Asoko de sounds like a great product for tourists, alien or not, visiting Japan. Too bad Sony didn’t make Chikyuu no Asoko de (The Earth over there) instead. I would love to have the world neatly packed on a UMD.
