Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia gathers on the DS

By Spencer . April 14, 2008 . 12:31pm

Last week I did some searching on the USPTO database and discovered Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. I honestly didn’t know what system it would be for, but being a new Castlevania game it was worth alerting the Siliconera readership. The ESRB clears the system mystery as it is revealed to be a Nintendo DS title. Besides the system no other details have been disclosed since Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia has not been officially announced.

Now all we need is some news about Rock Revolution and we'll more of the the Konami trademarks covered.

  • Hello Hello

This isn’t the Julius Belmont 1999 game, is it? Damn it Konami! Stop teasing us!

  • RayFoxSith

I was just thinking about this today. I hope we can get some concrete info on this soon.

  • Justin Bailey

So is it safe to say that we’ll never see a console release of the series again :\ Hand held versions are neat and everything but I seriously beat Portrait of Ruin within 3 days, and I was playing at work at that

  • EvilAkito

I bet this will be yet another watered-down Symphony of the Night. I’ll still buy it and play it since I’m a whore, but I won’t have fun.

Wouldn’t it be cool if Konami surprised us and tried something different for once?

I find it interesting that the game isn’t officially anounced, yet you have an image of the title curtousy of Konami.

@fidgetwidget – The image is from the USPTO database when I wrote about Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia since it’s their property I’m crediting them with the image.

Konami did try something different with Castlevania on the PSP.It bombed. So it’s back to what sells.

  • JDF

It bombed because it was on the PSP. The game itself was golden. However, golden games (Ultimate Ghosts ‘n Goblins, Megaman: Maverick Hunter X, Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles) don’t do well by default. They’re good games that are not for everyone.

Again, also ‘cuz it was on PSP. If it were a PS2 game more people would’ve purchased it.

    Yay for NDS version!
