Aksys finds a path from the abyss, localizes DS action RPG

fta.jpgAir Traffic Controller DS better known as Air Traffic Chaos when Majesco localizes it will not be the only localized Nintendo DS game from Sonic Powered this year. Aksys picked up From the Abyss, which Rolando previously covered in detail last month. The action RPG has players steal skills from enemy souls and generates a new world every time you play the game. Neat.

While From the Abyss appeared in Japan in January we won’t be seeing it until Q4 2008. On the plus side, at least we’re getting it. I was wondering how Aksys managed to strike a conversation with Sonic Powered since Majesco has a relationship with them too. Minicopter: Adventure Flight may have been the bridge. Aksys recently published it as a Nintendo Wii game in North America. Sonic Powered was the developer on the project while Arc System Works published the game in Japan.

Excellent news! I’ll pick it up for sure.

  • Mazen

DS may beat the PS2 as the system with the most localized Japanese games, hopefully Tecmo’s Deadly Intent is next, I really want it since they say its as fun as Phoenix Wright.
