Monopoly passing go and heading to 360, Wii, PS2

monopoly.jpgNormally, I wouldn't really find it newsworthy to find out that Monopoly people found a new way to real-world money by finding a new place to put the omnipotent board game. Hell, they have a version with just about every license known to man. But I've had a blast with the board/card games that people have been bringing to the XBLA so it stands to figure I'd enjoy this one too, on one condition. They need to let you make your own rules, at least ot some extent. Every game of Monopoly I've played has been a little different depending on the people playing it. House rules rule the day! You want some money for landing on Free Parking? Done! Etc. You get the picture.

Not much is known in the way of specifics yet, but EA will be handling it and as of yet there's no PS3 version announced.

FYI, did you know the locations on the Monopoly board are taken from Atlantic City, NJ? It's not often I get to pimp out my home state, so it needs to be said. If you need me I'll be hanging out at Park Place (although Baltic Avenue has the best parties).

While it’s true that there is a standard “English” version that’s been distributed in England for years, the first and original board was the Atlantic City version

it’s different everywhere. I only know a version with streets from various dutch cities :P

I never even thought about the fact that it would probably be different in other countries.
